The following positions are currently available at the Pole of Pharmacology & Therapeutics of the University of Louvain (UCL) Medical School in Brussels, Belgium. https://www.uclouvain.be/fath.html

 

Position 1: A salary of minimum 1 year (+ 1 year possible renewal) for a Research Assistant in the field of Preclinical Cancer Research in the team of Prof. Pierre Sonveaux. The Research Assistant will be in charge of the scientific administration of a laboratory active in the field of Tumor Metabolism. He/she will be in charge of scouting for grant opportunities, editing the scientific content of grant applications and scientific papers, maintaining the website of the laboratory and providing scientific support to the PI, postdocs and PhD students of the lab. The applicant should be graduated in Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Biology or a related field. He/she must be fluent both in English and in French. To apply, refer to ASSISTANT1.

 

Position 2: A Postdoctoral grant of minimum 1 year (+ 1 year possible renewal) in the field of Preclinical Cancer Research in the team of Prof. Pierre Sonveaux. The Postdoc will perform a study in which a new compound, Compound A, will be tested in vivo in small laboratory animals. He/She will be in charge of establishing the Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and efficacy of the compound used as a single agent in various types of metastatic cancer models. Experience in Preclinical Cancer Therapy (oral, i.v. and i.p. drug delivery, blood and body fluid sampling), small animal surgery, a legal certificate (from any country) for the use of small laboratory animals and fluency in English are required. At least one publication in international journals with impact factor ≥ 4 is mandatory. To apply, refer to POSTDOC1.

 

Position 3: A Postdoctoral grant of minimum 1 year (+ 1 year possible renewal) in the field of Preclinical Cancer Research in the team of Prof. Pierre Sonveaux. The Postdoc will perform a study in which a new compound, Compound B, will be tested in vivo in small laboratory animals. Position 4: A Postdoctoral grant of minimum 1 year (+ 1 year possible renewal) in the field of Preclinical Cancer Research in the team of Prof. Pierre Sonveaux. The Postdoc will perform a study in which a new compound, Compound B, will be tested in vivo in small laboratory animals. He/She will be in charge of demonstrating that Compound B does not interfere with chemo- and radiotherapy in various types of metastatic cancer models. Experience in Preclinical Cancer Therapy (oral, i.v. and i.p. drug delivery, blood and body fluid sampling), small animal surgery, a legal certificate (from any country) for the use of small laboratory animals and fluency in English are required. Positions 5: A salary of minimum 1 year (+ 1 year possible renewal) for a Laboratory technician in the field of Preclinical Cancer Research in the team of Prof. Pierre Sonveaux. The technicians should demonstrate motivation, team work ability and proactivity, as well as experience in cell culture and in vitro experiments. Sufficient English skills to work in an international team are required. Motivation will take precedence over expertise. On site formation will be provided in Genetics, Molecular and Cell Biology, Oncology and in vivo experiments.

 

There will be no overlap between the different postdoctoral projects.
